What are you looking forward to at Women in Tech Boston?

Like everyone else, I’m guessing, I am looking so forward to the opportunity to network with other amazing, like-minded women in tech, and to learn from them and be inspired. I’ve also never been to Boston, so I’m looking forward to checking that off my bucket list as well!

What do you see as the biggest challenge currently facing women in technology?

The biggest challenge is burnout. But this is not unique to the tech industry. It affects women across corporate America. There’s no shortage of studies, like McKinsey’s Women in The Workplace report, that have put a spotlight on how women have risen to the occasion as strong leaders since the beginning of the pandemic, all while doing more to support and advance DE&I efforts.

What are you looking forward to at Women in Tech Boston?

As an introvert, I love soaking up the energy buzz at conferences (and then go be by myself to rest, of course!). With women outpacing men on achieving advanced degrees, I believe the future is in the hands of women, and especially women in tech. I look forward to connecting and sharing with amazing, talented women committed to the personal growth that gives them a strong foundation on which to use their tech prowess to make the world a better place.

What are you looking forward to at Women in Tech Boston?

This conference is designed to empower and inspire women, educate on the latest cutting-edge technologies, and provide networking opportunities. It is a great honor to be able to represent Capital one and continue establishing the Capital One brand in the Boston area.

I am looking forward to meeting fantastic women and WIT allies, making meaningful connections, learning about new technologies, and spreading the good word about Capital One. We haven’t been able to participate in events of this scale for quite some time so this is an exciting opportunity to both attend and present at such a premier conference as WIT Boston 2022.

What are you looking forward to at Women in Tech Boston?

I am looking forward to seeing the energy in the room - it brings so many voices and so many brilliant women from everywhere in the industry together. In addition to that, I’ve seen the lineup, and the keynotes and workshops are things that I am also extremely excited to attend and participate in.

What advice would you give to a woman looking to step up their career in tech?

Problem-Solving is your most powerful skill. Each day in tech, you’ll be presented with fresh, complex ideas that you need to solve. You have to be ready, therefore, for a lot of problem-solving. When processes or programs are presented for you to answer or debug, you’ve got to learn how to break these down into smaller pieces in order to come up with the best solutions.

What are you looking forward to at Women in Tech Boston?

I’m looking forward to learning about the experiences and careers of other speakers and participants. With the tech industry being so large, I often feel like there are pockets of the industry that I know little to nothing about. I’m excited to expand my knowledge in some of those less familiar spaces!
